Description

Corporate Communications designs, influences, implements and monitors the strategies for communicating the company's vision, values and business strategy. Administers and plans communications to engage employees on strategic business imperatives and organizational direction. Identifies, synthesizes, and articulates the company's perspective and issues accurately to stakeholders, including employees, customers, the news media, and shareholders. Provides ongoing support and communication advice to company leadership to ensure consistency and alignment with established organizational principles, business objectives and media strategies.

The Sr. Associate, Communications is responsible for providing strategic communications consulting, writing, project management, and oversight that meets budget and business objectives, for a wide variety of communications projects in support of Santander’s HR, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Risk and other functional areas. S/he builds and maintains knowledge of the Company's operations, goals and initiatives and provide subject matter consulting on communication projects. S/he will work closely with other members of Communications to deliver appropriate executive messaging and employee engagement communications that align with the bank-wide and business line specific strategy and goals. The incumbent also ensures appropriate information distribution systems are in place and works with internal staff in training/production and fulfillment/web team to ensure that staff are aware of finished communications and that communications are added to inventory.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops and executes internal communication plans to support specific corporate functions that maximize impact and effectiveness. Produces supporting communication materials, including key messages.
  • Provides editorial support for the ongoing management of public corporate web site, Intranets and new web initiatives, including content development, design, navigation and usability support.
  • Participates on teams to plan, develop, and implement initiatives.
  • Ensures that the communication strategy is successfully implemented across multiple channels, such as web, print, video, face-to-face, events and two-way communication.
  • Works with contractors, consultants, design firms, and production houses to finalize media that cannot be produced in-house.
  • Conducts research, writes, edits and proofreads materials and collateral, ensures clarity, accuracy and timeliness of information that meet strategic and operational objectives.
  • Oversees design and publication/distribution.
  • Updates existing materials to make use of current technological resources.
  • Works with internal and external print and distribution vendors, ensuring that quality standards are met.
  • Monitors and evaluates results of communications programs, using specific metrics to track progress and insights for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or a equivalent field, or equivalent job experience.
  • 9-12 years of experience in Public/media relations or social media.
  • 9-12 years of experience with copywriting, editing and marketing strategies in particular, online strategies and search engine optimization.
  • 5-9 years of Web development experience including content production.
  • 5-9 years of experience of Ad platforms such as Google AdWords, LinkedIn Ads, Twitter Ads, TrueView ads and Facebook Business.
  • 5-9 years Experience of CMS systems such as Wordpress and Drupal, Photoshop, InDesign and video editing is required.

  • Ability to create effective messaging for specific audiences, and consolidate contributions and feedback from multiple sources.

  • Demonstrated ability to allow objective judgment and discretion as necessary.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet time line constraints/deadlines.
  • Flexibility to manage changing requirements and short timelines.
  • Ability to multi-task and possesses excellent prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply conflict resolution techniques to successfully overcome differing viewpoints.
