AML & KYC Screening Associate-2101762


This individual will contribute the successful maintenance of a framework to manage BSA/AML risk across the First Line of Defense (“1LoD”) teams. Such framework includes, but is not limited to, clear roles & responsibilities, adequate processes, procedures and systems, and strong governance, reporting and quality control mechanisms. The candidate will report into the Head of CLCM Compliance.

S/he provides consultative support of complex situations for internal clients, as well as, leadership and recommendations for support and training to assist with documentation, quality review and submission of documents.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Screening + Adverse Media:
    • Analysis and review of Level 2 alerts for New to Bank and Refresh including:
      • Online and batch screening hits for clients and related parties.
      • Online and batch adverse media for clients and related parties.
    • Escalation of hits to Compliance 2LoD when required.

  • KYC Management:
    • Address KYC / AML client queries in coordination with the CLCM Client Outreach teams (1LoD A). Escalation to Compliance 2LoD when required.
    • Compliance 1LoD review and signoff of onboarding files (KYC/CDD).
    • Ensure appropriate monitoring and execution of KYC refreshes, account inactivity and off-boarding of accounts.

  • Cross:
    • Receipt, review and analysis of reporting provided by 1LoD A.
    • Development and submission of reporting for the CLCM activity (New to Bank and Refresh activity, hits, Internal Audit or Regulatory recommendations, training tracking, etc.)
    • Participation and support in annual customer screening scenario definition/calibration.
    • Maintenance and renewal of 1LoD BSA/AML procedures.

  • Others:
    • Builds relationships with key stakeholders to ensure high levels of satisfaction and lay the foundations for continued growth and partnership.
    • Ensures the platform is successfully rolled out according to required timescales and customer initiative requirements.
    • Contributes for CLCM projects to reach successful completion, provides innovation, process and technical expertise, advice and consulting throughout plan execution.
    • Participates in process improvements based on post-mortem analysis.
    • Leverages feedback to improve processes collaborating with leadership teams across departments.
    • Regularly reviews and appraises workflows and procedures to provide optimum client experience and appreciation of regulatory, compliance and risk environment.



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-10 years - Experience in securities, financial services or project management roles preferred. CAMS and/or Series 99 certifications are a plus.
  • Advanced computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and demonstrated ability to conduct Internet research in an efficient, productive manner.
  • Knowledge of screening and onboarding systems, such as Oracle, Dow Jones, Fenergo and Goldtier desired.
  • Demonstrate a professional and adaptable demeanor with internal and external clients
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibit a high energy level, and demonstrate the ability to work as a valuable contributor to the team, with flexibility in work habits to schedule and meet the needs of the Department
  • Must be a highly motivated candidate with the ability to work independently and in a highly fluid environment
  • Strong analytic and problem solving and project management abilities
  • The ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize a large volume of detail-oriented work in accordance with changing deadlines.
