Power & Utilities Sector Head-Banking & Corporate Finance-2003300


Position Summary:

The Banking and Corporate Finance Sector Head for Power and Utilities manages overall relationships with the targeted portfolio for the sector, defines the strategy (perimeter, priorities, cross-sell efforts, identifying new products or services opportunities), and acts as the first line of defense on the exposure committed to these clients.


  • Acts as a liaison with the client, client coverage team, credit and other business partners, including subsidiary bankers and product sales across regions to help deliver the firm to the client.
  • Assists with ensuring assigned client portfolio is kept current with all aspects of the firm’s KYC/AML requirements.
  • Deliver specified budget and financial metrics for specific clients and for the sector
  • Manages due diligence, credit, coverage, reference data and other requirements resulting from corporate actions.
  • Monitors credit exposure across the family relationship and partner with Credit Risk on credit related asks.
  • Participates in client planning activities and client calls
  • Serve as the primary contact for client group, developing and driving opportunities to sell the banks products and services
  • Supports ad hoc requests from clients, interacting across internal stakeholders
  • Defines the strategy for the sector, including perimeter, capital needs, cross-sell opportunities and new business opportunities
  • Provides sector content and insights on the industry and trends that may translate into business decisions and opportunities

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience - Business, Finance, Economics, or equivalent field.
  • Master's Degree
  • Able to utilize full range of prospecting sales activities
  • Comfortable working in an environment that is evolving and subject to change
  • Deep knowledge of credit
  • Highly self-motivated to work independently and on broad based teams that cross Lines of Business
  • Proven ability to build and develop relationships. Strong internal network will be critical to success
  • Self-starter and able to self-generate sales prospects and pipeline
  • Significant Corporate Banking experience on the sector (more than 10 years) or related product experience focused on the sector (more than 10 years)
  • Proven senior access to the main players of the sector
  • Strong Corporate Banking background with experience navigating complex global organizations
  • Investment banking experience is also a plus
  • Strategic thinking, ability to plan ahead
  • Strong Microsoft office skills including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong and diverse product knowledge, Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a team
  • Strong sales skills in a fast paced environment
